Democrat Announces Run Against Scott Walker

Governor Scott Walker is now up against a formal opponent in his 2014 gubernatorial bid: Former state commerce secretary and Democrat Mary Burke announced today in a video that she would run.

Wisconsin Republicans are already battling Burke, launching a website highlighting her flaws and depicting her as out-of-touch.

“A vote for Mary Burke is a vote to take Wisconsin backward,“ Joe Fadness, executive director of Wisconsin GOP, told the Wisconsin State Journal. “Burke was part of the team that left Wisconsin with a $3.6 billion budget deficit, big tax hikes and massive job loss — a mess that was fixed by Governor Scott Walker.”
