The Delay Dynamic

What we’re hearing is that DeLay feels betrayed by the, as he sees it, unseemly desertion of his friends. This is an understandable sentiment, but it might be keeping him from thinking absolutely clearly about his current political circumstances. Most GOP members of the House, meanwhile, think it’s over for DeLay, but they don’t want to be the ones to deliver the news to him. They would much prefer that DeLay do this in what they consider the right way, which would be for him to take this decision himself without their prodding, for the good of the conference.
