Cruz Gained Late Momentum in TX Senate Race

The Club for Growth, which spent $2.5 million promoting Ted Cruz’s candidacy, has an interesting analysis of the Texas Senate primary voting trends that suggests Cruz gained significant momentum at the end:

According to the Texas Secretary of State (http://bit.ly/JTpuUz), in early voting, David Dewhurst received 321,146 (47.9%), and Ted Cruz received 200,983 (30.0%) of a possible 669,228. However, on election day, Dewhurst only received 303,019 (41.4%) to Ted Cruz’s 278,098 (38.1%) out of a possible 730,220 votes, a remarkable swing of 14.6 points, 6.5 points away from Dewhurst and 8.1 points towards Ted Cruz.
