Could Trump Win New Hampshire?

Donald Trump would finish second in the New Hampshire primary, trailing only Mitt Romney, according to a new PPP poll released today.

Romney would win 27 percent of the vote, while Trump would win 21 percent. Newt Gingrich and Mike Huckabee tie for third in the state, with each capturing 12 percent of voters.

Trump does well among Tea Partiers (23 percent to Romney’s 21 percent) and birthers (22 percent to Romney’s 21 percent).

Romney’s lead may prove vulnerable. When PPP asked primary voters if they would vote for a candidate who had created a health insurance mandate at the state level, 61 percent said they wouldn’t.
