CAP Attacks, Again

I caught Jonathan Moreno and Sam Berger putting words in people’s mouths—notably James Battey’s and Anthony Atala’s, but also the administration’s—to support their hyperbolic denunciation of the White House on stem cells. In their latest rant, as in their previous one, they just ignore the point, neither denying their falsehoods nor admitting them. Instead, Moreno and Berger create new diversions. They start out with a new falsehood: I’ve supposedly “admitted” that all stem-cell researchers accept their characterization of the science. They twist Rick Weiss’s comment about the existence of a continuum of stem-cell types as though it is compatible with their position that embryonic stem-cell research is superior to all other kinds. The rest of their distortions would take too long to elaborate, and there’s no point: These people are clearly not arguing in good faith.
