Jonah, I was most struck by the Times’s reviewer twitting you for ignoring the Klan’s dominance in the twenties in the Republican midwest. Now which party’ was so infested by the Klan that its national convention in 1924 went over 100 ballots before nominating a presidential candidate, thanks to a standoff between its anti-Klan and pro-Klan factions?

Hint: begins with D, rhymes with Emocrats.
