Biden’s Undoing

Today on The Editors, Rich and Co. discuss the fallout from last Thursday’s debate, and whether or not Joe Biden will drop out of the race. Noah doesn’t “understand how the [Democratic] party comes back from all of this.”

“We now have Democratic allies,” he says, “obviously Democratic allies, avowed Democratic allies: the New York Times editorial board, the Atlantic Journal Constitution editorial board, the Economist editorial board, David Remnick at the New Yorker and even a Democratic unnamed Democratic conventioneer, a delegate to the convention saying, ‘I know I’m pledged to him, but how the F can I vote for Biden? How can I do that to my country?'”

Noah points out that these commentators “have damned [Biden]. They have undone him with their own remarks. They can’t simply wish them away.”

“I just don’t understand how they put all this toothpaste back in the tube. Republicans aren’t gonna let them forget it.”
