More evidence of the elite/rank-and-file disconnect in the GOP on immigration: Grover Norquist has a pretty good overview of the 2008 presidential field in the current issue of the American Spectator (subscribe to NR!), but he never once uses the word “immigration”! It doesn’t matter what you think about the issue (Grover’s essentially an open-borders guy), the fact is it’s going to be politically salient, especially if Tancredo ends up running in the primaries, as he’s suggested.
