There’s a front-page story in the Washington Post today, headlined, “At Odds Over Immigrant Assimilation: Whether the U.S. Government Should Offer Encouragement Is Debated.” I read the article, especially curious to see what the anti-assimilation folks were saying. Only, there wasn’t anything in the article about why the government should not be encouraging assimilation. It is too bad that this reporter insists on suggesting that there is something controversial about the government encouraging assimilation when—aside from a few leftist crazies—there is not much controversy to be had.
