The Corner

All Is Well, Safely Rest, God is Near.

My father’s memorial service took place at his church in Irondequoit, New York, yesterday. The service ended with military funeral honors. Two members of the military saluted a folded flag, unfolded it, and refolded it, with precision and concentration. The detail leader then gave it to me, to express “the thanks of a grateful nation for your father’s honorable service.” A bugler played Taps.

Well done.
