Aiming for the Silver State Medal

There’s a new poll out in Nevada, which is currently scheduled to hold the nation’s third set of presidential-nomination contests (I say “currently” because Florida’s recent decision to move its primary earlier may lead South Carolina to move still earlier ).

The GOP field in Nevada is close to being tied, with nearby Sen. McCain at 19 percent, Romney at 15 percent, Fred Thompson at 14, and Giuliani at 12. On the Democratic side, the John Edwards camp thought it had a good shot at taking the state through union support — that’s one reason why the contest was scheduled in the first place — but his support so far is anemic (13 percent) compared to Clinton’s solid lead (37 percent).
