Actually, It’s ‘Football’

Charlie writes, “Where I come from, soccer is the national religion.” I don’t disagree. I’d only add that, there, the word “soccer” is tantamount to blasphemy.

Actually, “soccer” is football. 

I know, I know. “Soccer” comes from Assoc., abbreviated form of association as in Football Association, and was popularized by students at Oxford University in England. Still, in my very limited knowledge of both games — British and American — I can’t help but notice which involves more feet. (And it ain’t what y’all call football.)
