Here’s a CNN report from last night on the total lack of police response to shoplifting in San Francisco:
Here’s what @annamajaCNN & I saw at San Francisco’s Richmond area Walgreens, the worst spot of all 9000 US Walgreens for theft, per the co. We watched 3– and grabbed video of this shoplifter walk out right in front of us. pic.twitter.com/XJJxNcJ8Yj

And here’s a video of San Francisco police showing up to prevent Elon Musk from changing the “Twitter” sign on his office building:
After Elon Musk rebranded Twitter as X, a worker began removing the company’s old logo from outside its San Francisco headquarters. After removing six letters, the worker was stopped for performing “unauthorized work,” the police said.https://t.co/KtkRA8Ggvv pic.twitter.com/EQgaT0VMrt

If Musk didn’t get a permit, and the law requires him to get a permit, then he should have been stopped. But it seems to me that, given the limited resources available to the city, this side-by-side shows just how out of whack its priorities have become.
