Re: Not Stacking Up

In a comment over at No Left Turns, Steve Hayward offers the possibility that Smith’s op-ed was “deadpan satire . . . goading liberals into making a colossal political blunder.”  This would be the most favorable interpretation.  But Steve, who likes Smith’s work as I do (and unlike me has met him and liked him personally) doesn’t seem very persuaded that this is what he was up to.
