The (Non-)Vetting of Harriett Miers

In that piece K-Lo notes below, Glenn Reynolds reminds us that the vetting of Harriett Miers was not yet complete when her nomination was announced. This could be a big deal. The White House been caught off guard by various allegations made against her thus far, but the worst is yet to come. As Professor Bainbridge notes, we’ve only just begun to see Miers’s vulnerabilities. It’s hard enough for the White House to defend Miers’ qualifications, but they may be child’s play compared to what comes next.
