The Journal Nails It

The Wall Street Journal has an excellent editorial today, arguing that Justice Kennedy has no call to complain about editorial writers as long as he continues to give them so much material to criticize with his “protean” jurisprudence. The editors go on to note, along lines similar to my posting here Monday, that Kennedy is the object of the media’s latest effort to schmooze a justice into “evolving” in a liberal direction—which in Kennedy’s case would simply continue a trend under way for years.

Well done, say I to the Journal’s editors. My only question is, can they spot the grammatical error in their editorial’s first sentence? (Can you tell I’ve been grading students’ papers all week?)
