Disclosure of Kagan’s White House Records

Over the weekend, both AP and Politico reported that the White House has asked the Clinton presidential library to expedite the processing of some 160,000 pages of records relating to Elena Kagan’s work in the White House counsel’s office (1995-1996) for the Domestic Policy Council (1997-1999).  As White House counsel Bob Bauer has informed the library, the “availability [of those records], on an expedited schedule, is necessary to afford the Senate a reasonably opportunity to evaluate Ms. Kagan’s nomination.”
