Raise your hand if you thought the first time the word “savage” would be used on the convention stage was in reference to “Macho Man Randy.”
Hulk Hogan sounds exactly like he did in the 1980s. I feel like he’s on “Piper’s Pit.”
Ah, we’ve finally moved on to the long awaited… Hulk Hogan introduction video!
Convention band is playing “Soul Man.” Sam Moore is a longtime Republican who performed at a Trump inauguration event in 2017.
It’s normal for political convention organizers to put in some filler music and videos for the networks to do their panel chats, floor reports, etc. but… we haven’t heard from a speaker in about twenty minutes. Milwaukee — The mood at this year’s GOP convention is jubilant. “We have a very special person at the top of the ticket,” Texas Representative Troy Nehls told me on the convention floor earlier this week. “He completely changed the Republican Party. Milwaukee — This week’s GOP convention comes as Democrats continue to fret over President Joe Biden’s electoral viability in the wake of last month’s catastrophic debate. Publicly, Trump allies continue to project confidence that Trump will win even if Biden steps aside and the Democrats get a new candidate.
“I don’t care who they give us,” Republican Senator Roger Marshall told National Review Thursday morning here. “The Democrats are in disarray. The Republicans are unified. It’s their policies, that’s the problem.”
This cover of The Romantics’ “What I Like About You” has lasted seemingly eight minutes. And the song has three chords.
A topic that hasn’t received enough attention: The convention band has been fantastic. Right now, they’re on a great .38 Special cover, and their performance of ZZ Top’s “La Grange” got me out of my seat. Good job to whoever booked them.
