Manchin Ahead in New Poll

A new Rasmussen poll shows Democratic Gov. Joe Manchin ahead of Republican senate candidate John Raese by three points, 49 percent to 46 percent. Four percent of likely voters are undecided.

Last week, with Raese ahead by seven points, Rasmussen considered the race “Leans Republican.” Now it’s been shifted to “Toss-Up” status.

Rasmussen also reports that Raese leads among voters who strongly disapprove of President Obama, but Manchin has a 2 to 1 advantage among those who only somewhat disapprove of the president — and a strong lead among those who approve of Obama.

The poll’s margin of error is plus or minus four percentage points.
