Launched in June 2009, National Review Online’s The Agenda is a blog centered on domestic policy. Rather than jettison an American social model built on high rates of entrepreneurship and ground-level innovation, The Agenda’s goal is to revitalize it.
Authored by Reihan Salam and Josh Barro, blog entries on The Agenda look carefully at debates surrounding health care, the environment, transportation, and taxes, with a particular emphasis on the proposals advanced by the Obama White House and by conservatives in and out of government. Though The Agenda focuses on contemporary domestic issues, it attempts to situate today’s policy debates within comparative and historical contexts.
A cautionary note: While many of the ideas raised on The Agenda will seem sensible and sober, others may appear unwise or outrageous — a clear indication that this blog is doing its job.
