Coca-Cola Puts Out Weird Ads for (Probably) Proportionally Weird Reasons


I’ve got a piece on the homepage today about Coca-Cola’s odd new slew of ads that try to make the corporation look good while oddly mentioning obesity, with dubious results. One theory for their existence, which I explore, is that they’re just emblematic of the growing regulatory state — what looks like corporate self-regulation is actually done out of fear of regulation-regulations. And there are some concerning First Amendment issues involved, per usual.
