Rick Santelli, CNBC’s anchor who helped inaugurate the Tea Party movement, had a sharp response this morning to an attack on “insane” Republicans for trying to cut spending: “What about the lunatics that spent 16.4 trillion and want another check? Aren’t they the crazies? Why are the lunatics the people that say overspending and creating too much debt are lunatics?”
