Despite my reservations about Mitt, he appears to be the most likely GOP presidential candidate for 2012. I frankly, would have preferred Michele Bachmann to him.
However, Bachmann running with him as VP would definitely broaden the appeal of the ticket. There is probably some anti-Mormonism among the fundamentalist Christians, so Michele would soften this too.
Moreover, I think the combination of these two on the ticket provides a broader conservative punch that would make many grumpy conservatives go along with the program. The Tea Party people would probably jump on board as well as some of Ron Paul’s minions.
I think that the Romney-Bachmann ticket would also have the depth and energy to survive the vicious and unrelenting attacks from the left that we fully expect to be coming.
I think, all things considered, this is our best strategy to defeat the left. If we lose this one, God (or whatever deity you prefer), help us …
Thank you, Sir. Wakened now to dull reality from my dream of a Bachmann-Paul ticket, Romney-Bachmann would be the one, within the present range of possibilities, that I’d vote for with most enthusiasm. (Least lack of enthusiasm, whatever.)
