To me it was not a knockout performance from either side. I found it a bit dull, frankly. But McCain did a good job of sounding like a reformer at the beginning and making Obama look callow at the end. On the whole, I think he helped his cause. Given that he is not a gifted communicator, I think he should be pleased.
